Pipeline news from South Dakota

In local headlines, Lakota activists on the Pine Ridge reservation are staging a 48 hour hunger strike to protest tar sands extraction, tar sands pipelines, and their impact on indigenous Canadians and Americans.

South Dakota State University researchers have also released a report analyzing the potential risk to drinking water from a pipeline oil spill (not a tar sands spill specifically).
